A Wedding

We are very grateful that Grandma was able to come to our wedding today three years ago. Together with my parents and my other grandmother – we call her "Oma" – she traveled all the way to Europe by boat.

Soon after our wedding, they went on to Israel – on a plane.

Remembering

I hope no one minds. . I am going to be posting pictures and the memories that are written down on the FB thing Amanda has. Link to that is here:    Remembering Grandma Kelly

So, I'll start.. Some may have already saw this on my status but Michelle and I went to In-n-Out for dinner tonight and reflected on our memories of Grandma. Our favorite memories of our grandma was when she would yell at us when we would write in the carpet with our fingers, pass food through open kitchen window while watching us kids play on the trampoline in her backyard, pick oranges from the tree with her cool orange picker, and making pancakes in the shape of mickey mouse and first letter of our names. Our beautiful grandma passed away this afternoon and as sad as that is, We know she is now able to be her real, loving, caring self again. We will have strawberries and ice cream in memory of her. (She loved those!) I know everyone has different memories. I grew up as the little baby of the family going to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Camario ( I don't know how to spell it) but anyways, My childhood memories are of that house. I sure do miss those days :(

When Barbara married my brother Bob, we were both Barbara Kelly (until I got married). When they would come to visit, she liked to play tricks on my friends when they would call and ask for me. She would say, "Barbara who?" They would say, "Barbara Kelly." Then she would say, "Which Barbara Kelly?" She stilled laughed about that up until just a short time ago.

I didn't know her as well as most, but I loved being around her! She was and still is such a sweet person! I loved that she would always remember everyone's birthdays, even if it wasn't the right age, it was still on the right day for the right person. She was always eager to help out even if it wasn't needed. I will always remember her as a quiet, sweet, caring person! I will miss her!

My Grandmother was a really sweet person who gave people the wrong gifts. For instance she would give them something she would like, and they would think it completely strange, but all the same it wouldn't be a bad gift. She was an artist, and she loved painting. We always had ice cream when we went to her house, and she loved seeing us, and hiking. She was a member of our church, and a strong believer in christ.
She was a wonderful person, and even though I miss her, I know she's very happy where she is.

My sweet mother in law passed away this morning. She was the kind of mother in law whom I invited to attend my births when she could. She was a farmer's daughter with that work ethic and a childlike innocence. Because she was childlike she was sometimes a hilarious gift giver...she went for shiny and beautiful and exciting...which sometimes wasn't age appropriate or anything related to what the
person would actually want. But she had such fun giving presents! Also because she was childlike she was a lot of fun. She was a wonderful hostess. She loved parties and playing games. She remembered birthdays and had a beautiful bright smile. She was an wonderful artist. She had a simple faith and a simple way of expressing it...even though life had taught her many hard lessons. In her last days she kept telling everyone she loved them, and even in stress she wanted to pray, though her dementia made it difficult for her to have a heartfelt conversation with God. She has given me so much in her son. We will miss her very much.

Just Remember Who Loves You

This is a song that Kalani wrote for Grandma Kelly, and Natalie is helping her sing it. <3
Happy Birthday Grandma!! <3
Here are the lyric's:

Let's get this started with,
we love and really miss you.
We really want to wish you
a happy birthday, and wish
we could be there celebrating
with you. Please, just remember
who loves you.

Just remember who loves you,
your family on the earth.
And He who lives above us
who gave you time on earth;
to find you're spirit's worth.
Just remember who loves you.

All the wonderful years you
have lived, time spent with
love and joy. The family times,
and celebration times, and
happy times. All of the times
when Our Father was beside you.
(Was beside you.)

Just remember who loves you,
your family on the earth.
And He who lives above us
who gave you time on earth;
to find you're spirit's worth.
Just remember who loves you.

And in the times of trial, love
was always there. Whenever
it was needed you could feel
the comforting peace. Please,
just remember who loves you.

Just remember who loves you,
your family on the earth.
And He who lives above us
who gave you time on earth;
to find you're spirit's worth.
Just remember who loves you.
Remember who loves you.
